Initial concept for the Classic Sofa Project
Some preliminary detailingThis sofa design was modeled in SU7. Dimensions, and perhaps even a strategy for upholstering will be coming soon. Construction will consist of cutting out several 2D shapes which are then locked together to form the basic structure. Upholstery foam would then be glued or stapled onto the framework with fabric coverings to follow.
This design is intended to be completely open-source for others to build or improve upon and emulates many features of flat-pack furniture projects already out there. Look for updates as this project evolves, and hopefully gets built.
